An RTD Rider for RTD

Jack Rosenthal for RTD

I ride RTD every day and I'm running for the RTD Board of Directors in District O to make our transit network fast, reliable, and accessible to everyone.

Boulder County deserves representation that understands the daily realities of public transportation and the technical challenges that come with improving it. As an everyday RTD rider with a background in data analysis, I bring the experience and expertise to transform our system.

Here's What I'll Get Done at RTD

Rendering of the CoCo passenger train
Build the Train

Boulder County voters approved FasTracks in 2004 with the promise of rail service to Boulder and Longmont. Twenty years later, we're still waiting. CoCo will finally bring rail to Boulder, Louisville, and Longmont by 2029, and I'll make sure our FasTracks dollars go toward getting it built.

High Volume Event Service

Events like the Bolder Boulder, Broncos games, and the upcoming Sundance Film Festival overwhelm RTD's regular schedule. I'll fight for dedicated event service that gets people where they're going and home again, so the system doesn't buckle when Boulder County needs it most.

Growing Ridership

Growing ridership should be RTD's core measure of success, not an afterthought to budget cuts. I'll push to break down the barriers that keep people off transit, from safety concerns to gaps in service, and to meet demand where it already exists, including running the airport bus more often.

I'm Jack Rosenthal: lifelong Coloradan, proud Democrat, software engineer, and transit advocate. I live in Louisville with my husband, Bo, and our dog, Cookie.

I've spent years advocating for riders, with results to show for it. A few examples:

  • Passed a state law. I helped write and pass Colorado's Transit Access Bill, which now requires clear system maps and expanded language access at stops and stations statewide.
  • Fought for a new airport bus. I advocated for Route AL, RTD's new direct airport bus for Longmont, Niwot, and Lafayette.

Advocacy from the outside only gets you so far. The decisions that shape Boulder County's service are made in RTD's boardroom, and riders deserve a seat at that table.
